The Block 2022 Week 13 – Landscape Reveal

The Block 2022 Week 13 – Tom and Sarah-Jane (House 1)

Sarah-Jane wanted to make sure her landscape was the perfect outdoor setting to enjoy the fresh country air. Tom and Sarah-Jane added a pool, decking and a phenomenal entrance garden. Neil was absolutely blown away by one side of the property having its weatherboard country traditional look and when he turned around to see the complete opposite, he thought they really looked phenomenal together and giving that old-to-new vibe he always wanted to be incorporated within The Block. Shaynna loved the connection of white vases complimenting the veranda and commented it was very well thought out. Neil added the waterfall which was incorporated into the landscape, the sound it allowed him to hear was super zen and comforting.

While the judges walked around the back, they loved the pool, which was situated near that view, alongside the kid’s playground; Darryn screamed ‘I love it.’ House 1 really showed off how to live in their space this week. Overall, the judges all agreed that Tom and Sarah-Jane showed us a lifestyle resort with a great deal of attention to detail; allowing a basketball court alongside an amazing entertainment area to make your wood fire pizza. To then find a game changer and another entertainment area for the kids blew all three judges’ minds. Congratulations on the win, House 1.

The Block 2022 Week 13 – Rachael & Ryan (House 2)

For House 2, Rachael and Ryan’s choice of cladding, colour and textures of the old house and the new house worked wonders. The shed was terrific and the vineyard was a game-changer. Darryn was concerned about the decking having a drop, anyone young couldn’t play out here as it could be a hazard. Other than that, the judges loved the patio and the amount of space available. The fire pit was beautiful. Darryn loved the flying fox and couldn’t get off it.

House 2 was the country estate which was very impressive, with incredible results and hard work from House 2. Unfortunately for them, it wasn’t the winning landscape this week.

The Block 2022 Week 13 – Ankur & Sharon (House 3)

The judges loved watching the landscape from Ankur and Sharon’s balcony and thought it was majestic. Shaynna however was quick to notice that there was no connection to the pool from where they were standing. For the decking area, even though it was an entertainment area, there was no reason for anyone to hang out there with family due to no facilities like a bbq.  Neil added this felt unresolved and unlogical. Shaynna screamed ‘poor planning.’ To make it worse the shed needed to be completed, but nothing was done. Darryn added ‘this is making me anxious.’

Neil understood where the pizza maker was available was their game changer, but Shaynna and Darren couldn’t understand the location, and both agreed yet again it was terrible planning. They loved the garden area, especially having olive trees available. The ending gave them a bit of joy. Although they didn’t get it all right the garden area was great.

The Block 2022 Week 13 – Dylan & Jenny (House 4)

Shaynna loved the front of the house being white on white and believes it looks very charming. Darryn believed the view was beautiful on the decking but having the furniture turned to its back wasn’t a good idea. Neil said everything and especially the layout was phenomenal. The garden was super impressive. A hot tub and an ice tub were phenomenal ideas. The judges loved the brick steps. The cricket setup was amazing, everywhere they looked there was a view. The trees would look spectacular in spring, as they were beautifully planted. Darryn only criticised that there should have been more thought that went into the styling around the decking area.

Their game changer was the tiny house where Jenny fell off earlier in the week, which the judges loved. Neil said he would work here, while Shaynna added it’s a fantastic place for family and friends to stay. Darryn realised it was now a 6-bedroom-house, which now provides more value to the property. Good thinking, House 4.

The Block 2022 Week 13 – Omar & Oz (House 5)

Omar and Oz at house 5 did it again! They situated a whole heap of things for the judges to love. However, walking straight into a pizza maker wrapped up and not set up was the first ‘Debbie-downer’ for the judges. However, continuing to walk in, all three judges agreed that the layout was stunning in their opinion. Shaynna added it was professionally planned out, multiple times. The landscape was phenomenal. Again, Neil loved how the old and the new were incorporated and well combined. Darryn said it was his favourite combination. The golf court and fire pit were beautiful. The boys adding a built-in trampoline and sauna was also a phenomenal idea. Neil said House 5 was allowing a holiday resort look within this space. Then they saw the pool, with an incredible view. Darryn screamed this is the pool of the day.

Walking into Omar and Oz’s game changer the judges were gobsmacked seeing a tennis court and basketball court. The tennis court had the best views they have ever seen.  Neil screamed ‘we have never seen anything like this on The Block. Phenomenal results from the boys a close one but they came through second this week.
