BAL RATING
Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) ratings measure the potential threat of a building to bushfire. It measures the severity of a building’s potential exposure to ember attack, radiant heat, and direct flame contact.
The BAL rating system has six levels, ranging from little or no risk to extreme risk. Each level specifies different requirements for building materials, construction methods, and features. This includes windows.
Thermotek systems are up to BAL 40-rated, designed to withstand high radiant heat exposure and flame contact. Our high-performance windows contain materials that are fire-resistant, including uPVC, and bushfire-rated glass. Designed to meet the safety and comfort needs of those who live in bushfire-prone areas.
